Browser Extension
Overview of the Wintro browser extension — Lens previews on LinkedIn and automatic candidate data sync
The Wintro browser extension brings candidate insights directly into LinkedIn. It’s available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge via the Chrome Web Store and can be used by both recruiters and employees.
:::note If your organisation restricts browser extension installations, ask your IT administrator to approve the Wintro Companion extension. :::
Recruiters get Wintro Lens — a sidebar that previews candidate and company insights from Wintro as you browse LinkedIn. All users benefit from Network Auto-sync, which keeps your network up to date with Wintro.
Wintro Lens
Wintro Lens is a sidebar that appears when you hover over a LinkedIn profile or company link. It gives recruiters instant access to candidate insights without leaving LinkedIn. Lens can be turned on or off at any time from the extension popup.
People previews
Hover over any LinkedIn profile link to see:
- Profile summary — name, photo, headline, and location
- Matched vacancies — which open roles this person is a fit for, with match scores
- Employee feedback — recommendations or rejections from colleagues, with their reasons
- Recent activity — a timeline of actions like referrals, accepts, and reviews
You can click through to open the full candidate profile in Wintro.
Company previews
Hover over a company link to see:
- Company profile — name, logo, industry, size, and location
- Team connections — colleagues at your company who have worked there
- Candidate pipeline — how many candidates from that company are matched to your open vacancies and how many are actively in your pipeline
Settings
Lens can be configured from the extension popup:
- People — toggle profile previews on or off
- Wintro pipeline only — limit previews to candidates already in your pipeline
- Companies — toggle company previews on or off
Wintro Lens is available to recruiters only.
Network Auto-sync
Network Auto-sync keeps your LinkedIn network up to date with Wintro in the background. Once set up, the extension periodically verifies the connection and re-syncs automatically — no manual action needed.
The extension popup shows your connection status:
- Green indicator — connected and up to date
- Orange indicator — syncing or reconnecting
If your LinkedIn session expires, the extension will notify you so you can sign back in.
For employees, Auto-sync imports your LinkedIn connections into Wintro so the platform can surface referral opportunities among your colleagues’ networks.
For recruiters, Auto-sync does the same, plus — if you have a LinkedIn commercial-use license and are connected to someone — it can also fetch that person’s public LinkedIn network to uncover additional referral paths.
