Getting Started with Microsoft
Overview of all Microsoft integrations available in Wintro and how to set them up.
Wintro integrates with several Microsoft services to deliver notifications, enable single sign-on, and automate user provisioning. This page gives you an overview of what’s available and how to get started.
What You Can Set Up
Microsoft Teams App
Send bot notifications to recruiters when candidates are matched, referred, or when actions are needed. Requires IT admin consent.
Setup guide →
Teams Chat (Personal Messaging)
Send 1:1 nudge messages to employees via Teams chat. Optional — only needed if your org restricts user consent.
Setup guide →
Outlook (Email Sending)
Send nudge emails from recruiters' own Outlook accounts. Optional — only needed if your org restricts user consent for Mail.Send.
Setup guide →
Single Sign-On (SSO via Entra ID)
SAML-based SSO so employees log in with their corporate Microsoft account. Requires metadata URL and domain configuration.
Setup guide →
SCIM User Provisioning (Entra ID)
Auto-sync users from Azure AD. Accounts are created or deactivated automatically when employees join or leave via SCIM 2.0.
Setup guide →
OAuth Login (Sign in with Microsoft)
Log in with Microsoft accounts. Works out of the box — no IT admin setup required.

The IT Admin Setup Flow
If you’re a recruiter and don’t have IT admin access yourself, Wintro provides a secure setup link you can send to your IT team. The IT admin can complete the entire Microsoft setup — Teams consent, Outlook consent, SCIM provisioning, and SSO — without needing a Wintro account.
- Send the link — Go to Settings → Notifications and send the secure setup link to your IT admin’s email.
- IT admin verifies — They open the link, enter a verification code, and see a guided wizard.
- Grant permissions — The IT admin grants consent for Teams, Outlook, configures SCIM, and sets up SSO — all in one flow.
- You’re all set — Teams notifications, Outlook sending, SSO, and SCIM sync are now active.
What Needs IT Admin vs. What Doesn’t
| Integration | IT Admin Required? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Teams App | ✅ Yes | Organization-level consent needed |
| Teams Chat | ⚠️ Sometimes | Only if your org restricts user consent |
| Outlook | ⚠️ Sometimes | Only if your org restricts user consent |
| SSO (SAML) | ✅ Yes | SAML metadata + domain configuration |
| SCIM Provisioning | ✅ Yes | SCIM endpoint + bearer token |
| OAuth Login | ❌ No | Works out of the box |
Recommended Setup Order
- Teams App — Start here. Most customers want bot notifications for recruiters.
- Teams Chat + Outlook — Grant org-level consent if your organization restricts it. Otherwise, individual recruiters can authorize in their settings.
- SCIM — Set up automated user sync if you have 50+ employees. Saves manual user management.
- SSO — Configure SAML if your organization requires single sign-on for all apps.
